Compared to the original Multivox Big Jam Distortion, the MultiJam Distortion maintains the core voicing while implementing a conventional knob-based control layout. It expands tonal flexibility with additional switching options, including a Fat cap switch that increases low-end response and a MOD switch that raises headroom and overall volume output. These enhancements allow for broader tonal shaping while preserving the fundamental high-gain, mid-forward distortion character of the source circuit.

The pedal features true bypass switching via a 3PDT footswitch to maintain signal integrity when disengaged. It operates on standard 9V DC center-negative power and also supports 9V battery operation, ensuring compatibility with common pedalboard power supplies.
